Tickets
EXPO 2005 Aichi tickets go on sale September 25, 2003. They include special discount admission tickets that take into account advance purchase, day of the week and time of visit, repeat and group visits, to encourage the whole world to visit EXPO 2005 Aichi. First-term advance purchase tickets will go on sale at a 20% discount on September 25, 2003, a year and a half before the opening of the EXPO. In another first for world expos, IC chips will be incorporated in the ticket design that features the official EXPO mascots Morizo and Kiccoro. A miniature 0.4mm chip will be embedded in each entry ticket to prevent counterfeiting. Each ticket will have a unique identification code (ID number), which can be authenticated simply by placing the ticket over a reader. The IC chip is expected to broaden the range of services, including identification of ticket type, to be made available to visitors.
