Civic Pavilion
For the first time in the history of world expositions, a zone will provide a venue for citizens and civic groups from around the world to come together and work on the challenges faced by global society. Civic activities will continue after the close of EXPO 2005 and be carried forward to future world expositions as well. The community plaza, “Kaisho Plaza” covering 5,000 square meters, will be formed as a terraced paddy field. There will also be stage facilities for forums with seating for up to 300.
