Turkey and Japan share the common Oriental philosophy of living together with nature. The Turkey Pavilion focuses on considering the problem of forests rapidly disappearing from the Earth due to destructive development and climate changes.
The pavilion has been built with recyclable timber. It is a traditional Turkish-Islamic structure with a wide space, featured with a geometrical motif like snow crystals. After the end of EXPO 2005, the pavilion will be dismantled and its parts taken back to Turkey for use as materials for the History Museum in Istanbul.
