Children's Art Work from The 6th international symposium

Held for the sixth time since BIE approval of EXPO 2005 Aichi, the international symposium took place on December 8, 2002, spotlighting official EXPO mascots “Morizo” and “Kiccoro” under the title “EXPO 2005 Aichi and Fantasy.”

Invited speakers were Mr. Bob Hartman (author and storyteller), Dr. Promise Okekwe (author and poet), Mr. Alexander Bagin (independent animation producer), and Mr. John Gathright (columnist and tree-climber). The joy of creative imagination and fantasy, the attractive charms that they offer, and EXPO 2005 Aichi “Nature’s Wisdom” theme were discussed. Workshops were also held for participants, who formed groups to cooperate in creating stories.

The symposium, hosted by Ms. Mari Christine, Public Relations Producer for EXPO 2005 Aichi, also had Amb. Ole Philipson, Honorary President of the International Exhibitions Bureau and President of the International Council of EXPO 2005 Aichi, Japan, as an invited guest. In the workshop organized with the cooperation of Mr. Stanislav Sokolov (engineer and producer), Mr. Takafumi Ogata (interior item designer and creator) and Mr. Hideyuki Sobue (artist), direct interaction with foreign instructors presented the opportunity to provide insight into international exchange. The works presented here had been created by participating children on the day of the symposium. Please take a look and enjoy their uniqueness and creativity.
