Theme / Exhibition

Cambodia's participation in EXPO 2005 reflects its desire to get its rich cultural heritage and potential economic development to be better understood by people around the world. Another aim is to showcase close links between the Cambodian people and nature, such as its jungles and big lakes.

To this end, visitors to the Cambodian pavilion see a scale replica of Angkor Wat and traditional sculptures of Angkor lions, and films that show Cambodia's culture. The Angkor lions will remind you of the prosperity of the Angkor period. Moreover, the miniature replica of the Ta Phrom temple and giant roots encompassing it will give visitors the strong impression of nature's power.
Traditional complex silk weaving is demonstrated throughout the six-month Expo period, along with several arts performances, including stone carving. Visitors will likely be charmed by the techniques that were used to build and carve the Angkor Wat temples 1,000 years ago.

Goods

Selections of beautiful quality goods are available. Items for sale at the pavilion shop include silk products (clothing, accessories and interior decorations), art and craft works (wood, lacquer and sandstone) and jewelry (silversmithing and precious stones).
