Theme / Exhibition

With the theme of "Celebrating Diversity", more than 30 U.N. organizations have gathered at the pavilion. These diversities include those of life, cultures, peoples, states and the United Nations' own work. Through the work of the U.N. families, the U.N. Pavilion portrays the people across the world and praises their diversity.

Things worth seeing are impressionistic video art exhibits, photos entered in an international competition sponsored by the U.N. Environment Program (UNEP), and the "Art Gallery" showing exhibits about aging and health problems. There are also paintings by renowned Japanese artist Ikuo Hirayama, inspired by the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan, and computer-generated displays of Pablo Picasso's "Guernica" as well as other art works dedicated to peace.
At the multimedia "Education Center," visitors can learn about the diverse work of the United Nations, its various organizations, funds and programs. There are also interactive computer games specially created for children to introduce them to the United Nations.
The U.N. Pavilion is for all of us. Not only U.N activities but also figures of various people of its member countries are portrayed at the pavilion.
