Changes of number of the official participant countries and international organizations

The following changes have taken place with regard to the number of official participants and international organizations at EXPO 2005.

Official participants: 122 countries, including Japan (Syria has withdrawn its announcement of participation.)

Participating international organizations: Organization of the Islamic Conference, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, International Tropical Timber Organization, United Nations (the headquarters, as well as 33 UN agencies) will participate. The Asia Productivity Organization has withdrawn its announcement of participation, and the World Tourism Organization has decided to participate as an organ of the United Nations rather than independently.

As Syria has withdrawn its announcement of participation, the exhibition space allotted to Syria will be given to Bangladesh.
