Visit of His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince of Japan to Venue Site

His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince of Japan visited the site of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan, on June 10, 2003. The visit was the first by the Crown Prince since becoming the Honorary President of EXPO 2005. Chairman of the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition Shoichiro Toyoda, Secretary-General Harumi Sakamoto, and other EXPO 2005 officers showed the Crown Prince around the venue.

The following is a statement from Chairman Toyoda on the visit by the Crown Prince.

Today on June 10, 2003, His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince of Japan visited the site of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan. This was the first visit to the venue since the Crown Prince was named Honorary President of the 2005 World Exposition on June 29, 2002, so we made a presentation on the progress of the creation of the venue using scale models and panel-mounted images, and His Imperial Highness reviewed the work underway to improve the land at the site.

We were very much honored that the Crown Prince observed the venue intently, and we were once again impressed with the depth of his interest.
