At the opening of EXPO2005 Message Events, commemorative speech on the theme of “Nature’s Wisdom” will be given, followed by the tripartite talk.

Admission free. If you would like to attend the symposium on both March 27 and 28, please apply by a double postal card. Each person is limited to one entry. A ticket to enter the expo site to attend March 28th symposium will be distributed when you come on 27th.

6.Notes

  • If you would like to attend the symposium on BOTH March 27 and 28, advanced registration is needed. (Follow the instructions above)
  • If you would like to attend March 28 Symposium ONLY, please purchase an expo admission ticket to come to the venue. You will be seated on a first-come-first served basis but the organizer will handle seating. If the number of participants exceeds the capacity of a program, no more applicants will be accepted.
  • The forum on March 28 will be broadcast on NHK Educational,11:30 A.M. to 12:40 P.M.ON April 9.

7.Profiles

+ Ore Philipson

Born in Denmark. Appointed the Danish ambassador at the Republic of Korea in 1978 and at the Republic of Colombia in 1983. Served as a commissioner general for the Seville Expo 1989-1992 and for the Thae-Jun EXPO 1993-1994. Chairman of BIE 1993-1999. Served as the Danish ambassador at the Kingdom of Belgium. Served as a commissioner general for the Hanover EXPO and chairman of the administration committee.

+ Donald J. Johnston

Graduating as the McGill University Gold Medallist for law, Mr. Donald Johnston, born in 1936, studied at the University of Grenoble in 1958.59.
He was elected to the Canadian Parliament in 1978, serving in the Liberal
Cabinet, first as President of the Treasury Board, and then as Minister of State for Economic and Regional Development, Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. In 1990, Mr. Johnston was elected President of the Liberal Party and remained through its 1993 victory. He took office as Secretary-General of the OECD on June 1, 1996.
