Ecological Declaration

Basic Principle

Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition will send the message for the ways to solve the problems that humanity will confront and new lifestyles, through experimentations to create new relations between humanity and nature under the theme of Nature’s Wisdom.

Our aim with the Exposition will be to provide opportunities for each of us in the world to think about the formation and realization of a recycling society with such goals as zero emission technology and to seek establishment of a sustainable society which is a major requirement for the 21st century.

Policies

Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition will comply with the Conservation Measures identified in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report and promote environmental consideration in site operation, visitor transportation, the Expo 2005 Association Projects as well as site planning and site construction throughout the period of events.

We will support the participants so that they can develop spontaneous and unique efforts for environmental consideration as well as complying with the Conservation measures identified in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report.

We will also ask the visitors to give consideration by making public, our efforts for environmental consideration and items which need special consideration. To put these into action, we will emphasize the efforts below.

  2. Development of Site Planning with Environmental Consideration
  3. Introduction of Advanced Technology Promoting an Eco-community
  4. Introduction of the 3Rs(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
  5. Promotion of Transportation with Minimal Environmental Impact
  6. Providing Enjoyable Educational Opportunities through Events and Exhibitions
  7. Promotion of the Efforts for environmental Consideration by the people involved
